Rigdzin Kunzang Pema Trinley (1641-1718) was enthroned and ordained by the Fifth Dalai Lama of Tibet. Rigdzin Trinley was the fourth Dorje-drag Lineage Holder.
Dorje-drag is a monastery in Tibet that transmits the Nyingma Northern Treasure Text Tradition teachings. The monastery is in the Lhoka region of southern Central Tibet.
There is a rock mountain behind the monastery where there is a rock that has a footprint of Guru Rinpoche Padmasambhava and a naturally formed crossed vajra. The monastery was named Dorje-drag, literally “Vajra Rock”.
The Fifth Dalai Lama was a great revealer of Nyingma treasure texts. The set of 25 deity practices of the Sangwa Gyachen derive from his pure visions. The Fifth Dalai Lama transmitted them to Rigdzin Trinley.
